Into the Sky is a 3rd person aerial combat game in which you combat one massive enemy by targeting various weak points.
Into the Sky revels in glorious destruction, with a strong focus on creating visually exciting explosive sequences as various parts of the enemy are destroyed. The game features an unusual – if not unique - visual style, taking inspiration from the “Junk Ships” of Hong Kong and other elements of the orient. The player and environments of Into the Sky are constructed from parts that could easily be salvage in any East Asian city, bamboo shoots, canvas panelling etc.
While many other games increase the effectiveness of the player by providing them with a massive arsenal of abilities and weapons which make them more powerful than those they face. Into the sky strips back the options available to the player forcing them to focus their creativity and find ways past obstacles using cunning rather than brute force.
The Junkfish team created this games as part of their 3rd year Games Degree course at Abertay.
